P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of not being able to provide injured employees with first aid/CPR treatment: a) Shiver 2 farm field - The employer did not ensure that employees working in remote areas where the nearest medical facility was approximately 14 miles away and 25 minutes driving time, were provided with trained employees to adequately render first aid/CPR, and to have first aid supplies readily available. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct the hazard is to adequately train employees to render first aid/CPR, and to provide and maintain first aid supplies.
