Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of natural gas pipeline separation: a)Packaging Area Warehouse Section - The lower run of the natural gas piping system expansion loop in the northwest corner did not have hangers or supports, on or about 9/18/96. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to carry piping systems on properly installed and placed adjustable hangers or properly leveled rigid hangers or supports and springs, sway bracing, and vibration dampeners in accordance with American Society of Mechanical Engineers USA Standard Code For Pressure Piping, Power Piping B31.1.1.0-1967 Section 101.6.
