Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that the below-the-hook attachments were not being inspected: (a) Employees using the Bushman Sheetlifter ("mansaver"), were not trained or required to inspect the equipment for structural fatigue, general wear, loose bolts, damaged labels and bail wear, nor were they trained on the proper way to turn loads to prevent plates from moving or sliding free. Among other methods, feasible abatement methods include, but are not limited to the following: (1) Train the operators responsible for using the Bushman Sheetlifter, to perform inspections as outlined in ASME B30.20-20 (Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices) and in the Operator & Maintenance Instructions for the Bushman M5600 Sheetlifter. (2) Train the operators responsible for using the Bushman Sheetlifter to position and move loads as outlined in the Operator & Maintenance Instructions for the Bushman M5600 Sheetlifter.
