Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.760(d)(2): Fall arrest system components used in fall restraint systems did not conform to the criteria in 1926.502. For the employees laying decking material for the walking/working surface 22 feet, 10 inches above the floor on or about March 27, 2017 and times prior there to, the employer did not provide a fall arrest system that conformed to 1926.760 Appendix G. This exposes employees to falls from failure of the non-conforming components of the system. The elements of Appendix G not conforming were: (d)(15): Anchorage points did not meet the required 5000 pound minimum load rating. (d)(15)(i): The anchorage points were not designed for use in a fall arrest system. (d)(23): The employer allowed the guard rail to be used as an anchor point for the fall arrest system.
