29 CFR 1915.152(b): The employer did not assess its work activity to determine whether there were hazards present, which necessitate the employee's use of personal protective equipment. a) Colonna's Shipyard, USACE Dredge McFarland, Auxiliary Machinery Room: On or about 10/29/2016, a hazard assessment was not conducted to determine the use for personal protective equipment prior to a hot oil flush, therefore employees were exposed to burns on hands and body. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
