29 CFR 1910.132(a): Personal protective equipment for eyes, face and extremities, protective clothing and protective shields and barriers, were not provided wherever it was necessary by reason of hazards of processes or chemical hazards encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through physical contact. (a) Workplace - The employer did not provide eye protection to employees required to use Clorox bleach and other corrosive chemicals including but not limited to Blast-Away Oven and Grill Cleaner to clean the grills, on or about August 2, 2016. Employees were exposed to a chemical-burn hazards to the eyes and skin. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
