Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(b)(2): While an employee was exposed to contact with parts of fixed electric equipment or circuits which were deenergized, the circuits energizing the parts were not locked out or tagged or both in accordance with the requirements of this paragraph (b) of 29 CFR 1910.333(b)(2): On or about 6/15/2016 in room 298 at 4300 Snapfinger Wood, Decatur, GA: It was determined, that on 6/9/2016 an employee was exposed to 240 volts AC after he installed a replacement air conditioner unit following the fatally injury of another employee. The fatally injured employee did not deenergize the circuit and the other employee installing the replacement unit deenergized the circuit but did not isolated the circuit by locking and/or tagging out the energy source. The authorized employee de-energized the circuit but was not provided specific written energy control procedures by the employer after the injury to another authorized employee.
