Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees from crushing hazards: The employer if failing to protect employees from crushing hazards created by unstable precast concrete bunker silo panels. This most recently occurred on April 14, 2016 in the recycling yard located at 440 J Street Lincoln, NE 68508. Amongst other means, feasible means of abatement include but are not limited to the following: 1. Ensure precast concrete bunker silo panels are installed plumb. 2. Ensure panels are installed on well drained stable ground consisting of a minimum 8" of compacted gravel base. 3. Secure L-shaped panels by interlocking them together with the provided tongue and grove joints and applying counter weights/ballast at the base.
