Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees exposed to a equipment rolling over: On or about 21 March 2016, two employees operated SCAG Turf Tiger, zero-turn, riding mowers exposed to roll-over hazards as noted in the following instances: a) One employee was cutting grass on a slope exceeding fifteen degrees. b) A different worker was operating the mower without the roll bar in the raised position near a drainage ditch. Feasible means of abatement for this hazard among others include, but are not limited to: 1) Following the equipment manufacturer's instructions and limitations. 2) Using hand-held or walk-behind equipment.
