Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards of 26 feet from the top of the wooden trusses due to a collapse of the trusses: (a)460 Coloebrookdale Road, Boyertown, Pennsylvania - Employees were setting eighty-three (83) foot long wooden trusses on an 80 foot by 200 foot building without the advice of a registered professional engineer on bracing and securing the trusses as required by the Truss Plate Institute in Summary Sheet HIB-91 that was provided to the installer by the truss manufacturer, on or about September 24, 2001. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE, ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF A REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER ALONG WITH THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE SUMMARY SHEET HIB-91 ON BRACING AND SECURING OF WOODEN TRUSSES OVER EIGHTY FEET"
