29 CFR 1910.184(e)(9)(i): Alloy steel chain sling with cracked or deformed master link, coupling link, or other component was not removed from service. On or about 13 January 2016 and at times prior thereto, employees were lifting metal plates weighing up to approximately 28,587 lbs using an alloy steel chain sling with a deformed plate hook, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by falling loads.
