Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Adams Thermal Systems employees did not receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation: (a) Employees of Adams Thermal Systems were exposed to crushing, struck-by, pinch point and other hazards while performing servicing and maintenance operations on various machines including but not limited to operations inside the Matrix Core Machine, such as clearing fin jams, inspecting machine operation and evaluating machine effectiveness without having been trained on lockout/tagout requirements and responsibilities. To abate this violation, the employer must provide training on the recognition of the machine's energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available on each machine, and the means necessary to isolate and control those machine energy sources to ensure that employees are not exposed to these hazards.
