Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: ELECTRIC
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to possible electrical shock hazards: a. Scotland Road, Winchester, NH - On 4/14/93, a line-clearance tree trimmer was exposed to accidental contact with energized lines. The employee was working from an aerial lift truck and did not maintain an adequate clearance distance from the energized lines. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to maintain an adequate clearance distance from all energized lines. See ANSI Z133.1-1988 for guidance in establishing adequate clearance
