Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) O'Brien-Newark CoGen Plant Employees exposed to the hazard of fire/smoke, due to the fire department connection for the sprinkler system not being tagged to indicate to the responding fire department that the sprinkler system was shut down, as required by National Fire Protection Association, NFPA 25 Sect. 10-3.1. Appropriate tagging of the fire sprinkler connection is one feasible and acceptable method of abatement. Violation occurred on or about 12/20/92 through 12/25/92
