Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by a falling load. On or about February 26, 2015 at 476 Hwy 247, Bonaire, GA.: Employees were using a single leg chain sling attached to an excavator bucket to hoist bundles of rebar from a flatbed truck. The material was rigged in such a way that the load was unbalanced exposing employees to being struck by the falling load.
