Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) On or about December 10, 1992, at Barron Drive and Route-4 in Woodlawn, Ohio, an employee was operating a Con-cut concrete grinding machine on a road surface that had a 10 degree slope with the equipment having no braking mechanism. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is: 1) To install and periodically ensure its function of a braking mechanism on the equipment.
