Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. On or about December 20, 1991, and times prior thereto at Clinton Oil Company p#8275 #1 J&E Strahler Lot 10 Adams Township Washington County oil/gas well, and employee was exposed to the hazard of being crushed by equipment rollover while operating an international bulldozer (1982-TD-12, serial number 551) on a hilly terrain prior to adn during well servicing operations. Two feasible adn acceptable abatement methods, among others, to correct this hazard are to install a Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS) on the bulldozer, including a seatbelt/safety harness which the operator shall always use, or limit operation to terrain where a roll over hazard does not exist.
