Section 17(a) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Falls and/or crushing injuries due to inadequate guying or bracing of structural steel during it's erection. a) Rockdale County, Middle/High Relief School, Gymnasium, 3551 Underwood Road, Conyers, GA 30208 - structural steel was not adequately guyed or braced to support all construction loads during erection, on or about July 3, 1990. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to ensure tha temporary guying or bracing is designed and installed in accordance with accepted engineering practices, to ensure support for all construction loads during steel erection.
