29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: Stites Masonry, Inc. had an employee exposed to struck-by hazards on the head without head protection, while handing construction material to employees working from scaffolding, on a residential construction site in Champaign, Illinois. The employer did not provide employee training in order to provide employees with the knowledge to recognize construction safety hazards, as well as the procedures to follow in order to minimize or eliminate those safety hazards.
