Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): If at any time a powered industrial truck is found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the truck shall be taken out of service until it has been restored to safe operating condition. On or about 1/12/2015 at 3860 Sullivan Hartfield Road in Evans, Georgia: Where employees operated two powered industrial trucks with defects and deficiencies such as but not limited to: non-operational handbrakes, improperly installed propane fuel line, damage hydraulic line and pulley, inoperative seat belt, and air filter not installed. The employer failed to remove the powered industrial trucks from service until the repairs could be made.
