29 CFR 1926.1424(a)(2)(ii): To prevent employees from entering hazard areas, the employer did not erect and maintain control lines, warning lines, railings or similar barriers to mark the boundaries of the hazard areas and/or did not train each employee to understand what these markings signify. The employer does not ensure that warning lines, railings or similar structures are erected to mark the boundaries of hazard areas. This violation occurred on or about November 20, 2014, in the laydown yard where employee were exposed to crushed-by hazards when the established warning line did not encompass the swing radius for the superstructure of the Manitowoc lattice boom crane. Pursuant to 29 C.F. R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that warning lines, railings or similar structures are erected to mark the boundaries of hazard areas.
