Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was f from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to f or crushing injuries from collapse of the boom of the HI-Lift Ranger serial number #7682649. The bucket truck was not being maintained according to t manufacturers specifications, also the vehicle maintenance manual was not the correct manual for the equipment the employees were using. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct the h is to maintain the vehicle according to the manufacturers specifications a follow the directions written into the operations and maintenance manual or contract out the major maintenance and inspection of the vehicle.
