29 CFR 1926.962(b): For any employee working transmission and distribution lines or equipment as deenergized, the employer did not ensure that the lines or equipment were deenergized under the provisions of 1926.961 and did not ensure proper grounding of the lines or equipment as specified in paragraphs (c) through (h) of this section. a) 6533 Interchange Rd., Lehighton, PA: On or about October 27, 2014, employees were in the process of installing lightning arrestors on a 69KV power line where the hazard of induced voltage was present from energized 500KV and 69KV power lines in close proximity and the line was not deenergized and temporary protective grounds were not installed, resulting in the electrocution of an employee. Abatement Certification and Documentation Required.
