29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(4)(ii): For all Class I jobs involving the removal of more than 25 linear or 10 square feet of thermal system insulation or surfacing material; for all other Class I jobs where the employer could not produce a negative exposure assessment pursuant to (f)(2)(iii) of this section, or where employees were working in areas adjacent to the regulated area, while the Class I work was being performed, the employer did not use either of the following methods in paragraphs (g)(4)(ii)(A) and (g)(4)(ii)(B) of this section to ensure that airborne asbestos did not migrate from the regulated area: a) Kyklos Bearing International, LLC - Sandusky, Ohio: On or about October 1, 2012, the employer failed to implement critical barriers or another barrier or isolation method to ensure asbestos from Class I work did not mitigate from the regulated area. Employees were exposed to potential long term health effects after coming into contact with asbestos containing material (10-15% chrysotile) while removing an ash hopper from Boiler #3 or working in the surrounding area and the employer did not have a negative exposure assessment completed.
