Section 5(a)(1) of the occupational safety and health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazards associated with not being familiar with operating and safety manuals specific to the model aerial platform being used : (a) Location - Machine shop: Employer does not ensure employees are properly trained in the safe operation of aerial platform lifts as in accordance to operators manual. Feasible abatement methods include but are not limited to the following: 1. Consult Marklift Industries to facilitate training for employees assigned to operate and provide proof of training. 2. Ensure qualified personnel train employees to understand the manufacturer's operating instruction and user's safety rules.
