Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards: (a) A fatal accident has occurred at 3615 Gardner Ave, Kansas City, Missouri, where an employee was exposed to a fall hazard while working as part of a roofing crew. The roofing procedure required the employees to apply material up to and around unguarded skylights. The employer failed to train his employees to identify fall hazards or provide them with training on the use of fall protection. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19
