29 CFR 1910.184(c)(10): Hands or fingers shall not be placed between the sling and its load while the sling is being tightened around the load. On or about April 24, 2025, at an establishment located at 338 South Main Street, Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, an employee working in the Torching Area was using a hoist and alloy steel chain sling to hold a riser/gating for a casting and suffered an amputation injury when they placed their finger between the sling and the load causing their finger to be crushed.
