29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer shall assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). (a) On or about December 9, 2020, the employer did not conduct an adequate personal protective equipment assessment in that a contractor employee was replacing overhead light fixtures in the ammonia mechanical room using a self powered platform (JLG Scissor Lift Model 2632ES Serial number 0200248875) and was not wearing eye and face protection, respiratory protection or protective clothing.
