Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: (a) An employee was exposed to a fall hazard due to an unattended forklift with a work platform that exceeded 10 inches outside of the front load bearing tires at 3808 93rd Street in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to follow the American National Standards Institute B56.6-2005, paragraphs 8.24.1(b), 5.15.1(s) and 6.2.11 for platform dimensions and attending forklifts.
