Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious harm to employee in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries: Warehouse/Yard: An employee was observed operating the Toyota forklift # 61025 without wearing the provided seat belts. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Retrain employees on the use of seatbelts and require their use when the forklift is operated. Specific abatement documentation is rquired.
