Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on March 26, 2013, Employee #1, of Granite Construction, was removing cutting edges from a 980H Caterpillar Loader. The employee had placed one cutting edge on a pallet and was placing the other cutting edge on the pallet when his right hand was pinched between the cutting edges. Employee #1 was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for a partial amputation of his right ring finger. The employee was later released.
