Investigation Summary
At 5:20 p.m. on September 26, 2020, an employee was checking a metal chute that deposits sirloin onto an overhead conveyor for a blockage within the chute. The employee stepped up onto a table approximately 2.5 feet high and was holding onto the metal chute. The employee lost his balance and fell, their right pinky finger became lodged between the metal chute and a metal shield. The employee's right pinky was amputated at the distal joint. The employee was treated without hospitalization.
