Employee With Covid-19 Infection Dies

On August 28, 2020, an employee who was working at a spring manufacturing facili ty died from COVID-19. The employee had been on vacation out of state from July 8, 2020, to July 13, 2020. He returned to work on July 14, 2020. The employer d id not require self-quarantine following out of state travel. On July 7, 2020, t he employee left work early since he was feeling ill. On July 25, 2020, the empl oyee tested positive for COVID-19. A coworker notified the employer that the emp loyee died at 5:03 p.m. on August 28, 2020. The employer did not have an effecti ve COVID-19 Prevention Program in place including face coverings, social distanc ing, and the sanitiation of frequently-touched surfaces.
