Investigation Summary
At 12:30 a.m. on June 9, 2017, an employee was working on a 1150/65R39 tire. The tire was measured at approximately 41 to 42 wide and 101.58 inches in the outsi de Ddameter. The tire requires a 39 inch rim when installed and the nominal weig ht is 5,104 pounds when being Inspected/Repaired. The trimming activity can be d one from the front or back of the tire as viewed from the front of the machine a t the discretion of the employee performing the operation. Various size tires (w idth of tread and tire diameter) can and are done on these machines. The employe e incurred injuries from being caught between the rim and tire.
