Investigation Summary
On September 19, 2002, Employee #1, working for a small logging contractor of 31 employees as a timber faller, was preparing to chop a tree into logs. He walked to the butt end of the tree to place his tape measure down at the butt of the bark of the tree when his foot slipped off the tree. The tree butt was approximately 15 to 20 feet above the ground. Employee #1 fractured both of his ankles and his right arm when he fell. He was hospitalized for his injuries.
