Abstract: At approximately 8:00 a.m., on December 20, 2011 Employee #1, an HVAC mechanic of Accutherm Refrigeration Inc., sustained a serious injury when his left ring finger got caught in a belt and pulley as it was slowing down after shut-off in preparation for making repairs. Employee #1 was transported to UCLA Medical Center in Westwood. Employee #1 came in contact with a moving belt and his finger was caught in a pinch point between the belt and pulley. As a result he crushed a fingertip which then had to be surgically amputated.
