Abstract: At approximately 3:00 p.m. on May 13, 2007, Employee #1 was operating a horizontal tilting mixer manufactured by RB works, mixing dough to make tortillas. The employee activated the controls and mixed the dough for about three minutes. The mixer beeped, signaling that the mixing cycle was finished. The employee activated a control to tilt the mixer and pressed two buttons to move the dough closer to him. As he took the dough out of the mixer, the mixer started up. Four fingers on his right hand were amputated, and he was hospitalized.
