Abstract: At approximately 10:00 a.m. on August 2, 2010, Employee #1 was helping a coworker finish compacting soil in a 4 ft to 8 ft deep and 50 ft by 20 ft excavation. They were working on a single family home construction project. The employee was working on the South East side of the excavation in close proximity of the compactor being operated by the coworker. His legs were crushed by the compactor. Employee #1 was hospitalized for two months. The investigation concluded that there was no violation of Title 8 standard in connection with this accident and the Division did not issue serious accident-related citations.
