Abstract: At approximately 10:15 a.m. on July 8, 2008, Employee #1 was weeding around rose bushes. Employee #1 was working in the field Number 108. Employee #1 suddenly felt weak, lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous, and proceeded to sit on the ground. A foreman, working within close proximity, moved Employee #1 into the shade (tent) and gave her water, and notified his supervisor. First Aid was provided by the field supervisor and foreman; Emergency Services was called. Employee #1 was immediately taken from the field in supervisor's air conditioned truck. Employee #1 was wearing excessive clothing: one tank top, two t-shirts, one long sleeve shirt and a band or girdle around the waste used to lose weight. The supervisor and foreman assisted Employee #1 to remove layers of clothing. Employee #1 was given Gatorade and additional water. To expedite medical assistance and meet the ambulance half way, Employee #1 was driven to the nearest intersection. At the hospital Employee #1 was given an IV and was discharged on the same day.
