Abstract: On October 31, 2007, Employee #1 and a coworker, of A J Harrison, Inc., a sheet metal and roofing contractor, were installing metal vents for a gable window in a home that was part of a new housing tract. Employee #1 handed up a vent to the coworker, who was standing on an approximately 9 ft high A/C platform. He was handing up the second vent when it hit a rafter and fell, striking Employee #1's right forearm. He sustained a severe laceration on his right wrist, and he began to bleed profusely. The coworker called the supervisor, who then contacted 911. An air ambulance responded and transported Employee #1 to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he underwent surgery to repair his brachial artery, tendon, and muscular fascia. He remained hospitalized until November 4, 2007,
