Abstract: On February 20, 2006, Employee #1 was holding up a 2-ft by 4-ft piece of plywood so that his helper (using a pneumatic nail gun) could nail a vinyl strip. The nailer was on the left side of the plywood, and the employee was on the right side of it. When the nailer shot the nail, it went through the middle of the plywood and struck the employee in the lower chest area. Employee #1 was hospitalized for two days, and minor surgery was performed to remove the nail. According to the employee, he has been doing this for several months with no events.
