Abstract: At approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 3, 2006, Employee #1 was cutting a 2-in. by 4-in. by 35-ft piece of wood using a portable circular saw (Skil 7.25-in. wormdrive saw, 4400 rpm). The saw jumped, amputating his thumb and lacerating his index finger. Employee #1 was hospitalized for two days. His thumb was surgically reattached.
