Abstract: Employee #1, of Kimball Roofing, was helping coworkers remove a tarp from a flat roof. The tarp was being lifted while the employees walked backward on it. Employee #1 was walking at the edge of the tarp when his right heel struck the frame of a skylight, causing him to lose his balance and start to fall backward. In trying to break his fall, he put out his right hand and arm, which struck the skylight near its top and center. The skylight broke under Employee #1's weight and he fell approximately 19 ft onto the cement floor. Employee #1 sustained bruises to his knee, hip, and upper torso on the right side of his body.
