Abstract: Employee #1 was engaged in framing a house that was under construction. He was sitting in a window that had been framed in, using a pneumatic staple gun loaded with 1 1/4 in. long staples to attach wafer board to the framing. Employee #1 was getting down from the window sill, which was approximately 3 ft above the floor, when the staple gun accidentally fired into his upper left chest. He sustained puncture injuries that required hospitalization.
