Abstract: Employee #1, a carpenter, was using a circular saw to cut a 2 by 4. He was holding the board in his left hand when he tried to cut a 4 ft piece lengthwise. The board kicked back, and Employee #1's left hand became caught between the blade and the saw guard. He sustained multiple lacerations and partial amputation of his wrist.
