Abstract: On September 10, 1999, Employee #1, a mechanic for of Capital Drum, was checking a bearing on the sprocket of a chain conveyor. He had removed the metal floor plate covering the chain and sprocket drive when his left middle finger became caught by a guide at the back that prevented the chain from slipping off. Employee #1's finger was twisted and run through the pinch point, resulting in lacerations and crushing injuries. He was administered first aid at the scene before being driven to Kaiser Hospital in Roseville, CA, where he was treated and released.
