Abstract: Employee #1's job was to stack lumber that came off a jump saw. The saw operator ran out of lumber and went to find a forklift operator to bring him more. While the operator was gone, a clean-up person came behind the saw and began shoveling sawdust. Employee #1 went up to the saw, whose front door had been pushed open by accumulated sawdust. According to Employee #1, he was wearing ear plugs and didn't realize that the saw was running. He reached inside the door to clear out the sawdust and contacted the moving blade with his hand. Employee #1's thumb and two fingers were amputated.
