Abstract: At approximately 9:35 a.m. on August 30, 2001, Employee #1, a journeyman lineman for Irby Construction, Inc., was tying in a new distribution conductor at the top of a pole in a residential section of LaQuinta, CA. He suffered burns to his left hand when his palm contacted a 7,200-volt AC tie-in jumper. Employee #1 was transported to JFK Hospital in Indio, CA, where he was admitted for five days.
