Abstract: At 2:45 p.m. on August 17, 2018, an employee was placing pans on a conveyer belt when the pans started to misalign. The employee attempted to determine the cause of the misalignment and placed his hand on the side of the conveyer. A metering device, the Pan Stop, that was attached to the conveyer deactivated. As the device retracted, it caught the tip of the employee's left pinky finger and the portion above the bone was amputated.
