U.S. Department of Labor's OSHA recognizes Honeywell Hardware Product Group for safety and health excellence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has welcomed Honeywell Hardware Product Group of Earth City, Mo., into the agency's prestigious Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) at the highest, or "Star," level.

Honeywell Hardware Product Group has 22 employees who package and ship aerospace fasteners.

"Honeywell Hardware Product Group has exhibited excellence in safety and health management," said Charles E. Adkins, CIH, OSHA's regional administrator in Kansas City. "The group's outstanding efforts have included management commitment to and employee involvement in safety and health programs."

OSHA's VPP recognizes and promotes effective workplace safety and health management. Member companies achieve average injury rates at least 50 percent lower than other companies in their respective industries. More than 1,700 worksites in more than 270 industries nationwide have earned entry into the VPP.

Information kits about the VPP application and approval processes are available from the VPP manager in OSHA's Kansas City Regional Office, who may be reached at (816) 426 5861.
